Freddy Tylicki

In a horrendous ‘four horse pile up’ at in October 2016 at Kempton Park, 2009 Champion Apprentice Jockey and Group 1 Winning Rider Freddy Tylicki was so seriously injured that the meeting had to be abandoned. After an hour being treated on the racetrack, he was flown by air ambulance to St George’s Hospital, Tooting where it was confirmed he had fractured 18 ribs and broken his back, leaving him paralysed from the chest down. His long rehabilitation was primarily at the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre, based in Stanmore, at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

In the summer of 2017 Freddy was delighted and proud to accept patronage of the INSPIRE Foundation and in a quote from his column in the Racing Post he was ‘… looking forward to seeing what doors can be opened to me via the remarkable work made possible by INSPIRE’.
